The sports movement in the Transneft system is an important part of HR and social policy that is carried out to strengthen the psychological climate and cohesion in working teams, help employees to show off their best qualities amid fair competition.
Since 2011, corporate summer and winter sports festivals among Transneft employees have been organised.
The Summer Sports Festival includes basketball, volleyball, futsal, track and fields, table tennis, swimming, chess, billiards events.
The Winter Sports Festival includes ski racing, mountain skiing, snowboarding events.
There are three stages in each sports festival.
At the first stage, competitions are held within each subsidiary to form an expansion team.
At the second stage, regional competitions are held among expansion teams from several subsidiaries, grouped by their geographical identity or proximity. More than 27 companies are involved at the given stage overall. The number of summer sports festival participants exceeds 1,300 employees; more than 400 employees take part in winter sports festivals.
Winners of the regional stage then compete at the third final stage.
What’s more, teams of Transneft subsidiaries take part in sports tournaments, including intercorporate ones, backed by the Ministry of Energy of Russia.
